Tony Taylor is a highly respected figure in law enforcement, having dedicated 35 years of his life as a Chief of Police before retiring. In 2019, Governor Henry MacMaster appointed him to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Training Council, a testament to his exceptional qualifications and reputation. Chief Taylor's commitment to his role on the council was unwavering throughout his tenure.

Chief Taylor's career is marked by his relentless pursuit of professional growth. He participated in numerous comprehensive leadership training programs, including those conducted by esteemed institutions such as the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville, FBI Command College, Franklin Covey Leadership for the Public Sector, and the University of North Florida Institute of Police Technology and Management. Additionally, he attended the Riley Institute of Diversity Leadership Strategies at Furman University, among others. These educational experiences gave Chief Taylor invaluable insights and skills that enhanced his leadership capabilities.
